Biology is now capable of manipulating human and animal genetic material, DNA, and this will lead to completely new life forms. This knowledge brings with it the potential to change the face of life, literally. There are both promises and pitfalls to this technology.
Better Products through Genetic Engineering
Genetic engineering involves manipulating DNA bits and strands of infinitesimal size and exponential numbers to precise specifications. Nanoprinters automate the weaving of this complex code which is then implanted into living stem cells. These cells are incubated in specialized containers maintaining the exact environmental conditions necessary for optimum growth, culminating in the birth of a new spittle of life. That little smidgen is then taken to the Friggly Enterprises Nursing Room where it is nourished and nurtured into a fully functioning product.

We take these eons-old codes and encourage them to evolve; not only much faster, but with superior precision to so-called natural, slapdash, selection. For example, if a creature is needed for work in a cold environment (a recent request), we might add the coding for fur, or the ability to withstand low temperatures.
